We are Sally and Terry. What a great blessing it was to stumble on to this beautiful 12 acre property in 1995. Even though the only convenience here was an outhouse (no plumbing or electricity) we fell in love with the rolling hills and the beautiful lake. As former city dwellers and corporate dropouts who had made the choice to get out of the traffic and noise, we headed to the country with nothing specific in mind except to get away.

Starting from scratch was an adventure and over the next ten years, we slowly developed. It was so much fun to put in the things that arose out of our needs for the simple escape to nature…the hiking trail through the woods, the little waterfall there for sound, the splash island trampoline to swim out to, the deck out on the water to lounge on. Birch Lake grew and came in to being. As we offered it to others one house was added after another. Each house we also carefully designed to complement and fit in to the surroundings.

It has been our pleasure to have many guests whose gift of trust we value deeply. Their reactions of relief and pleasure when they arrive are our greatest rewards. Their fun and spirit have added greatly to the ambience of Birch Lake.

It is our hope that if you decide to come here that you too will discover the joy, peace, and beauty of this gem we call Birch Lake.
